Ledgerly passes 1,000 paying customers

A small milestone we're pleased about. Ledgerly, the bookkeeping tool we built for freelancers back in early 2025, passed a thousand paying customers last week.

The number is theirs, not ours. But there are two things about it we think are worth saying.

First, it's the same codebase. We handed over seven weeks after the first call, and the product running today is a continuation of that, not a rewrite. It's had one in-house engineer working on it since month nine, and we've picked up a few pieces of work alongside her. Nothing had to be thrown away to get here.

Second, the whole first version cost less than a single month of the quotes the founder had received elsewhere. That's not because we're cheap. It's because we spent the first week deciding what not to build, and the founder was brave enough to launch without the things we cut.
